Structure of Canada Postal Codes
A postal code is a key tool in courier and mail shipping process. In Canada, the postal codes are structured in a way that when somebody looks out for a postal address within the country, the postal code follows the abbreviation for the province or territory. These codes are alphanumeric in nature that use both letters and digits and can be used to encode many more locations than the codes using only the numeric form.
Each postal code is associated with one or more mail delivery points. The average number of households served by a postal code is approximately 19, but the number can range from zero to 10,000 households.
