Development in map production, distribution, the collection of data associated with geology, space, land, and earth – everything is administered by these special agencies that work for the nation’s mapping and other natural resources of the country.

FEDERAL AGENCY FOR CARTOGRAPHY AND GEODESY

The Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy is the central service provider of topographic data, cartography, and geodetic reference systems for the German government. The agency which was found in 1997, is known to break new grounds to create consistent web map based on relevant data sources.

The organization provides geodetic reference systems and basic information for the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany efficiently. Moreover, it even advises the institutions of the federal government in the fields of geodesy and geoinformation and represents the appropriate professional interests at the international level.

The agency’s central office is in Frankfurt, Germany but it is based with a branch office in Leipzig and the Observatory Wettzell in the Bavarian Forest.
