Australia’s Geography
The country is surrounded by the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean and is separated from Asia by the Arafura and Timor seas. It is the world’s smallest continent and sixth-largest country by total area.
The world’s largest coral reef, the Great Barrier Reef lies a short distance off the north-east coast and extends for over 2,000 kilometers (1,240 mi). Also, Mount Augustus, the world's largest monolith is located in Western Australia.
This country has a wide variety of landscapes, including tropical rainforests in the north-east, mountains in the south-east, south-west and east, and desert in the center. All of which is depicted beautifully in the above Australia physical map.
