Details on the Maps

The Hawaii map is one of the most attractive graphical representations of the state in gradient blue tones. It is the only US state surrounded completely by water and is entirely an archipelago. The map combines the political and topographical layout of the state with minute detailing.

The main eight islands and the state capital Honolulu are marked with prominence. All primary and secondary cities and towns are named and can be located on the map easily.

Terrain features like mountain peaks, islets, reefs and the ridge shelves underneath the islands are depicted with shaded relief and elevation. Major highways are also marked for quick reference. National Parks like Haleakala, Hawaii Volcanoes and forest reserves can also be placed clearly on the map. • Locations on the Hawaii Map

  Known as the “Paradise of the Pacific”, the State of Hawaii is the only island state of US. Hawaii is located in the central Pacific Ocean, southwest of continental United States. The Hawaiian archipelago consists of 137 islands, largest in the group being the “Big Islands” or the “Hawaii islands.”

  The Islands of Maui, Hawai’i, Molokai, Oahu, Kauai, Niihau, Lanai and Kahoolawe can be easily placed on the map. The state falls under the western geographical region of the United States. Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and California are some other states that fall under this region.

• Urban Placements

  Honolulu, the capital city of Hawaii, is also the largest city and can be placed on the island of Oahu. The most populous island of the province is Oahu followed by Hawai’i and Maui. Pearl City, Hilo, Puna, Kohala and other significant towns and cities are visible on the map. Out of the eight main islands, only Kahoolawe Island is uninhabited.

• Terrain Markings

  Hawaii is known for its tropical climate, unique topography and natural terrain. Mauna Kea, the highest point of the state, can be seen on Hawai’i island along with Mauna Loa, one of the largest shield volcanoes on earth.

  Rocky islets, coral reefs and atolls, which form a part of the island archipelago, can be placed on the map with clarity. The ridge shelves underneath the islands are depicted with shaded relief and elevation. The rugged sea cliff fringes can be also placed along the outer edges of the Kauai and Maui islands.

• National Parks

  National parks of Hawaii are marked on the map prominently. Haleakala National park is located on the island of Maui. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park can also be placed on the island of Hawai’i.

  Kilauea, the youngest volcano there, still erupts occasionally. The famous historic site of Pearl Harbor can be also be found on the island of Oahu
